Geek Girl Manila In Taiwan: Day 6 – Taipei Zoo

March 20, 2010

If ever you plan a trip to Taipei, one of the must-do activities is visit the Taipei Zoo.

The Taipei Zoo is the largest zoo in Asia.

The Taipei Zoo displays animals from Taiwan, Australia, Africa, the Asian tropical rainforest, the desert, and the temperate zones. The zoo also displays domestic animals in its Children’s Zoo, as well as over 12000 birds of over 130 species in an aviary. Other exhibitions in the zoo include an insectarium, amphibian and reptile house, penguin habitat, koala habitat, nocturnal animals display, and a panda exhibition. – Wikipedia

We managed to go around the entire zoo and we had to walk a total distance of 700 meters!

Hmm, where to go first.

I kid you not. But of course, that includes taking breaks at the souvenir shops and snack bars. But that said, make sure that you wear your most comfortable walking shoes when you visit Taipei Zoo.

A visit to the Taipei Zoo will only cost you 60NT (P90 or $2). Very, very affordable and the experience is definitely worth.
