Hotel Review: PARKROYAL on Pickering, Singapore

Last September, I went on a family trip with my husband and in-laws to Singapore.

It was a long overdue trip, actually.

We were supposed to go to Hong Kong in March 2013, but my father-in-law had a heart attack earlier in the year and had to undergo a quintuple bypass.

Thankfully, the operation went very well and after 6 months, it was decided that we push through with the trip.

We ended up deciding to go to Singapore instead.

My sisters-in-law have never been there, and as it was a celebratory trip of sorts for my father-in-law, we wanted him to experience something really special – the Formula1 Night Race in Singapore.

Same with my husband, my father-in-law is a huge car buff so this is a really nice treat for the both of them.

For our hotel, we ended up booking rooms at the PARKROYAL on Pickering, Singapore.

After an almost 4 hour flight to Singapore, we were very happy to see that the hotel is very, very nice!

According to the Agoda app, if you book a room now, it would cost P9,386 (est. $210) for a standard room. That’s so much cheaper than what we got it for.

Since September F1 Season is a peak season for Singapore, we booked our rooms for twice the amount of around $400 per room.

While the rates are a bit on the expensive side, it is DEFINITELY worth the stay!

While we don't really get anything from the mini-fridge, it was good that it was cold enough to store my husband's insulin.

Breakfast Buffet @ PARKROYAL Pickering

I’m a breakfast person. My parents taught me that breakfast is the most important meal of the day and I should never skip it.

So when I saw how awesome the  Breakfast Buffet of PARKROYAL was, I was very, very happy!

They have a huge selection of food! Even if you’re the pickiest eater, I am sure you’ll be able to find something from their breakfast buffet.

They also had a juice bar which I wasn’t able to take a photo of, as well as a pancake and waffle area where you choose your own toppings for your pancakes or waffles.

We stayed at the hotel for around 7 days and I don’t think I was able to try out all the food!

Random Thoughts

All in all, I LOVED my stay at PARKROYAL @ Pickering.

It is a bit expensive, but it is worth the price for the following reasons:

  • The location of the hotel is perfect. It is right beside Chinatown Point Mall which has a Din Tai Fung, a UNIQLO and a Sasa.
  • There is also a nearby MRT station which is a 5 minute walk away.
  • If you prefer to take a bus, there is a bus stop which is 2-3 minutes walk from the hotel.
  • There is a nearby Church as well, 1 minute away via taxi cab if that is important to you.
  • The WiFi is fast and free 🙂

The only thing I didn’t like about my stay was the tub was a little dusty and dirty so I had to clean it a little before using it. I also found that the office table was dusty as well.

The sheets, though, were clean and the pillows were very soft! The airconditioning was working perfectly and there was no problem with the hot water in the shower, too.

If you’re looking for a place to stay in Singapore, I highly recommend PARKROYAL @ Pickering 🙂

XOXO,
